About
Debate. Discuss. Decide.
Our Mission
The Federalist Society is a collection of libertarians and conservatives who are interested in the current state of the legal system as well as the philosophies and ideologies that shape it. Members of the Federalist Society highly value both the freedoms guaranteed by, and the structure of, the Constitution. The Society's core principles are (1) that the state exists to preserve freedom, (2) that the separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution, and (3) that it is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be. The Society seeks both to promote an awareness of these principles and to further their application in the legal system.
The Federalist Society has created a conservative and libertarian intellectual network that extends to all levels of the legal community. We host events that get attendees to debate, discuss, and decide on issues concerning the legal system and the ideologies that influence it.
